Finding Some Life Purpose And Love In Bette Midler 8217 S Rose Lyrics

Finding Some Life Purpose And Love In Bette Midler 8217 S Rose Lyrics

Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed. Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed. Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need. I say love, it is a flower, and you its only seed.

Some say love, it is a river

Have you ever gone down rapids when a river is in flood? It is so exciting and its such a huge rush. Have you ever wandered down a river hand in hand with your partner and watched it flowing silently back and forth from the sea? This lyric is so poignant.

Life is like a river. We are all in this big wash flowing from birth to death and like river we all go over bumps and terrain and we carve out a path that meets the least resistance. Some of us go over bigger obstacles and become giants and are known by the whole world.

But love as a river, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed

Well you can jump in head first and maybe be drowned like a tender reed or you can sail above it and let love be part of your whole life and let it carve a character in you. I have to say I am a different man from a marriage and divorce, but I am a better more forgiving man.

Love is so consuming and it’s risky and if you have been drowned like a reed you may be hesitant to jump in again and sail down that river. But I say jump in and have a swim.

Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.

One person that was left to bleed is a well known friend of mine. I have spoken to Him all my life and I have met Him in the flesh and had a quarter pounder meal with Him that I bought, and I have seen Him 45 times in visions as an apparition. His name is Jesus Christ and He is still living. In one of the prophets hundreds of years before He became the famous Rabbi on earth, a prophet inspired by God wrote about a promised Messiah and a saviour. This is what the prophecy of the coming One would experience.

Isaiah 52:13-14

13 Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high. 14 Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;

Jesus was only young when He knew he was this promised servant and yet this verse said that He was going to beaten to such a state that he was going to be unrecognisable as a man.

Later in the next chapter it speaks of the whipping He would get called stripes.

Isaiah 53:5-6

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

One time I saw Jesus in a church in a vision where appeared so clear to me it’s as though He was really a flesh human standing in front of me. He was dressed in a white robe but it was soaked in bright red blood. He turned around and his back was cut to shreds. Just like you dice meat for a curry, his back was in strips of flesh from those whips. Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” didn’t nearly go as far as what I saw that day in the year 2000.

Some could say the love Jesus had for humanity cut Him like a razor and left Him bleeding on a cross to die. Some believe the myth that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and they had a son, this is essentially saying Jesus was not divine as He came back from death on the third day and the enemy of this world would love to discredit Jesus.

But as the verse read above, All of us like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way;

This breaks the heart of Jesus that people don’t believe in Him and practice what He taught.

Yes love can cut like a razor, but love requires you to take the plunge. Jesus took the plunge, why don’t you buy a New Testament Bible and read the Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and have a look at who we killed. Have a look at what He said and see if you in your own power can obey what He teaches.

Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.

Love has that effect on you. You can be fine when you have not a person who you fall in love with, but once you are in love you don’t know how you can exist without them in your life. It is a hunger and sadly some people are addicted to their partners and that’s not a healthy sort of love.

We all need love. God loves the prostitutes of this world providing a loving service to all the lonely men in the world who need someone to hold them and to give them comfort and listening ear. I guess that’s why Jesus and Mary got on so well. She found a man that could love her without wanting sex and He found a women that loved Him for who He was, loved to speak to Him and listened to Him preach for hours and gave Him good feedback.

For 20 years I was addicted to the services of prostitutes and so Mary being one and being a good friend of Jesus always appealed to me. In this past year I have met Mary in visions about six times and three of these times I have seen her dance ballet at church to our songs. She is a blessing.

Love is addictive.

I say love, it is a flower, and you its only seed.

What a perfect and wonderful way to look at love. Every love needs an object. That’s why we give love away to cars and cats and dogs so easily as they are not going to hurt us much save when they die or break down. Love has no point when the person we love does not return it, well in most instances. But I have to confess there are actors that I love and I go and see them act in most of their movies and so it can be rewarding with a one sided love.

But very flower needs a seed and then it needs water and sun to grow. And so the best love is a two way love, one that is fed into maturity.

Have you got that sort of love in your life?

It’s the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance. It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance. It’s the one who won’t be taken, who cannot seem to give, and the soul afraid of dyin’ that never learns to live.

It’s the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance.

It is truly heartbreaking to hear some stories of how some people have grown up. I have to say I admire ballroom dancing but I have never learned to dance. I am not sure this is the full meaning of her lyric but it is one meaning. Only a girl who never expects to be at a formal wedding doesn’t learn to waltz at some time.

Some people have been so hurt, so spoken ill of, so rejected and unloved that they simply never take a chance on entering the dance of love. That is a sad state.

Then there are people who did take a chance from the group above and they have a marriage or love affair that breaks up and they promise themselves never to take the chance again.

It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance.

We all have dreams as we grow up but how many people see that dream come true? Are we afraid that it will never come true so we never take the chance and make up excuses to ourselves and live our lives in regret? I tell you the truth many people have gone after their dreams and achieved them. You know for a little as six hundred dollars you can get a book published with up to fifty copies? How many people were going to write that book and never have because they think it will be impossible to be published? This month I am going to have my first book published in fact tonight I got the email that said it was ready to be printed.

That has been a life long dream of mine. In six months I have written a 130 articles and 28,000 people have read them, and my first book is 66 of those articles. So I am not going to a traditional publisher but I think enough people will order my book and be blessed and pass it on to their loved ones to read. And in a few weeks I will be published author, how exciting it that?

It may not be to you but for me it’s so exciting.

Take that chance on your dream. Go and read “Finding your destiny in Billy Joel’s Piano man lyrics” from the expert author link below for more on destiny.

It’s the one who won’t be taken, who cannot seem to give,

There are so many people that are takers in this world. So many of us are so afraid of being used that we won’t open up and give freely. You can’t live like that. You have to be able to give. You have to take the chance that you are going to be taken advantage of, you just need to give.

and the soul afraid of dyin’ that never learns to live.

One time Jesus walked across a lake in the middle of the night and the followers of His froze with fear thinking they were seeing a ghost. When Jesus said it was Him, Peter asked could he come and walk on the water and Jesus said, “Sure come.” And Peter walked on water for a while.

On that night Peter was obviously not afraid to walk on a rough blown lake. We have to be fearless and that is so hard in a world where we are constantly assaulted with bad news that teaches us not to take a risk.

Most people reject the Christian faith as they see it as so limiting. And yet when asked they will readily agree that the Jesus they knew of was a nice person. Most people are simply afraid of dying to the way they live currently and therefore miss out on a relationship with the one person that called Himself the life.

John 14:6

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. This is a profound statement by Jesus the young Rabbi. The whole world is searching for meaning to life, they are searching for direction and purpose, and they search for truth that makes sense. And most people want to go to heaven when they die and meet God.

Yet few people submit to Jesus and become a follower and step out onto the lake called the Christian life like Peter did that night.

I encourage you to approach a Christian your respect and show them this article and tell them you’d like to check out Jesus more with them. Have them explain the teachings of Jesus to you.

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been to long, and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong, just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows lies the seed that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose.

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been to long and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,

Life for the unloved and rejected people in this society can be quite lonely and the road of life can become very long. Depression and even clinical depression can set in and this makes suicide in many people’s minds seem very attractive. I have been there three times on the precipice of jumping off a bridge.

Sometimes we get to thinking that love is only for the lucky and the strong people of this world. We often think success only comes to the strong and the lucky also, but look at me a self confessed former sex addict, I am publishing my first book and soon I will have double the articles on the web and I am so happy.

And I am neither a lucky man nor one that is particularly strong. My one strength has been a verse in the Bible.

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

This verse is a very powerful verse for a Christian who understands it. It means good and bad no matter what it is that happens, will somehow turn out for good. It means all the bad things in my life will have a happy ending if I continue to love God and do what He tells me to do. And yes God speaks to me and gives me things to do and gives me directions how to do each thing. He even inspires me what to write.

The book was his idea when I had written 40 articles and even the title was His title that He gave me.

just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows lies the seed that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose.

In Australia where I live it does not snow and in fact I have only seen snow in pictures, so this lyric would have more meaning to your North Americans that see snow. Bitter snow must be so depressing. Depression is like that I imagine. There just seems to be no end to it but Bette Midler wants us to remember when all hope seems lost you are the seed and when enough sun comes you can find love and purpose in your life.

You can find love in life. There are so many people that are willing to have friends. You just need to go and find some lonely people like you. Perhaps you’ll find them in a pub.

I have to warn you that even church can be a lonely place and Christians sometimes can seem so unloving. Jesus was not like that. Jesus had time for every person and so make sure you get to know some genuine Christians. Start with that one that you already like.

Have a good day. I hope my mumblings have helped you.

Can I pray for you?

Dear Father

I ask that you bless this reader for reading so far. If they have read everything that I have written here, I pray that you give them the courage to seek out that Christian that they know and like and take them a print out of this article. Father I pray that you lead this person into relationship that helps them and helps them start to dream again. I pray that your Holy Spirit would guide them to books and teach them as they read the Bible to the time that they want to take the leap of faith into the river like Peter and risk their life on following you.

In Jesus name I ask Amen

Be blessed

Texas Holdem 8211 4 Ful Secrets To Avoid Getting Ed Out On The River

Texas Holdem 8211 4 Ful Secrets To Avoid Getting Ed Out On The River

If you play Texas Hold ‘Em Poker long enough, you’ll wind up suffering some losses, to someone who’s just plain lucky, that just drain the life right out of you. Trust me, this is among the most crucifying elements of playing poker. I can’t tell you how many times I got into a hand with the nuts only to be beaten by a lucky draw on the river.

This “bad luck” plagued me for years, until I discovered the 4 secrets to avoid it and poker gods to side with me.

Get ready to learn some of the most powerful and closely-guarded secrets in the game of Texas Hold’Em poker.

Secret #1: Employ power positioning to force out draws.

Let’s say that you’re dealt Bullets (Pocket Rockets, Pocket Aces), and the flop is A, 4, 8… all hearts. In this position, you should NOT attempt to “trap” your opponents. Even with your three Aces, you’re still in a precarious position with the flush draw. Bet big and try to take down the hand without another card being turned.

Secret #2: Learn your opponents.

A tight poker player will seldom beat you with a lucky card. Cautious players commonly don’t gamble with draws and will only play when they already have a hand.

Maniacs (very aggressive players) can be grievous. Even if they only have a marginal hand, they’re more likely to play the full hand and snatch a lucky card. When playing these players, look out for straight and flush draws. These players are particularly dangerous when they have a lot of chips. Avoid challenging these players with borderline hands.

Secret #3: Luck Vs. Math

I recall one time, after a flop, I had an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. My opponent had a set of Kings. As chip leader, I called his all-in bet. The hand was almost even, but when I caught my flush on the river, he erupted in anger.

Recall that there’s a difference between luck and knowledge of the game. Even if you’ve got a solid hand, if there is a lot of draws that can crush you, you’re in jeopardy of catching “bad luck.”

So, to make luck work for you, learn the odds and the number of outs for a given hand. For instance, if you flop an open-ended strait draw and flush draw. There are 15 cards in the deck that can complete your hand.

Learn the math and use it during your games so that you’ll be able to be the one who catches the “lucky breaks.”

Secret #4: Intimidate Your Opponents

Any time that you sit at a poker game, you should make the effort to intimidate the other players. Sunglasses and poker slang can rattle other players, but bold, aggressive, and varied play is much more daunting.

The cardinal rule to intimidating players is to keep them guessing regarding your play. Never fall into a set pattern of checks, calls, bets, and raises.

When you intimidate your opponents, you will be able to force them to act in a way that will assist you. For example, let’s say you’ve got Cowboys (Pocket Kings). You toss in a medium bet to fatten the pot and frighten a few players out.

Now, the flop comes, 4, 5, 10 with two clubs. Your kings are still probably the best hand. However, there is a lot of draws out there.

If you’ve attained mental power over the players, you will be able to bet big and take the pot. If no players are intimidated by you, they will call you. The next two cards are 6 of clubs and J of clubs and a flush draw takes the pot.

University Of Utah Braces For Unrest Ahead Sch By Conservative Commentator Ben Shapiro

University Of Utah Braces For Unrest Ahead Sch By Conservative Commentator Ben Shapiro

(SALT LAKE CITY) — The University of Utah plans to ramp up security Wednesday night for conservative speaker Ben Shapiro, putting into action the lessons it learned from a visit to the University of California, Berkeley, earlier this month for his appearance that drew a huge police presence to ward off violent protests.

Though Utah doesn’t have a history of free speech protests and violence like Berkeley, a liberal bastion and the birthplace of the American free speech movement, officials at Utah’s flagship college didn’t want to take any chances amid a climate of heightened political tensions.

The University of Utah leans more liberal than the rest of the conservative state, much like Salt Lake City, where it’s located. The city has had some unrest during protests in recent years against police shootings and white extremism as well as at a Donald Trump campaign rally.

The University of Utah aims to strike a delicate balance to protect protesters and people attending a speech by former Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, while trying to avoid a “police state” atmosphere, school spokesman Chris Nelson said.

“There’s no concern about peaceful protest, in fact we embrace and support it,” Nelson said. “What we’re preparing for is any violence, any type of clashes.”

The university will prohibit protesters from wearing face masks and use barriers to separate them from those attending Shapiro’s talk, Nelson said.

All 40 University of Utah police officers were expected to be on campus, as well as an unspecified number of officers from other departments. Some classes near the speech will be moved.

Nelson said he didn’t immediately know how much the university had spent on preparations, which are similar to those UC Berkeley has taken.

The California school spent $600,000 on security during Shapiro’s Sept. 14 speech, which prompted largely peaceful protests. The city and campus have become flashpoints for the country’s political divisions, drawing extremist groups from the left and right and producing violence at four demonstrations since February.

It has led authorities to come up with new strategies to balance free speech rights with the need to control rowdy and sometimes dangerous crowds.

Shapiro, editor-in-chief of the Daily Wire, uses his web-based talk show and online columns to support President Donald Trump’s policies and criticize the “self-righteous media.”

Nearly 400 free tickets for his speech in Utah went quickly Saturday after students waited in long lines, said student Dillon Clark of the Young Americans for Freedom organization. Clark said his group invited Shapiro to promote conservative views in what can be a liberal-leaning campus environment.

Clark said he expects Shapiro to talk about freedom of speech and critique left-leaning political tactics.

Students held a sit-in at the university president’s office earlier this month, urging the event to be canceled. Protesters said in a letter to the Salt Lake Tribune that they planned to “shut down” the speech, saying Shapiro’s positions on transgender people, LGBT rights and conversion therapy could hurt vulnerable people.

The Utah event comes a day after U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions decried what he sees as political correctness run amok on college campuses during an invitation-only crowd at Georgetown University’s law school.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Utah sent Sessions’ remarks to reporters at the direction of the Department of Justice public affairs office.

“The American university was once the center of academic freedom, a place of robust debate, a forum for the competition of ideas,” Sessions said. “But it is transforming into an echo chamber of political correctness and homogenous thought, a shelter for fragile egos.”

Taking The Kids Along For Frio River Camping Here Are 5 Things All Pas Need To Know

Taking The Kids Along For Frio River Camping Here Are 5 Things All Pas Need To Know

Frio River camping, as is the case with camping anywhere along a scenic river, can be quite the experience. Things can change, though, because the “river-centric” adventure of your single days is made very different by virtue of having children. As a parent, your are either the matriarch or patriarch of your family. Your job is to make any trip fun & successful, but you also have to make sure everyone is safe.

Your next camping elicits a little more anxiety because you’re going to be near the Frio River. But do yourself, and the rest of the family, a favor by relaxing just a bit. As long as you can keep the following bits of information close at hand & doing a little prep work ahead of time, you’ll find that you can ease into your trip a little better:

1. Your trip will include working through temps during both day & night. You’ll experience shifts from warm days to cool nights. Being that you’re near the Frio River, remember that the word “frio” means cold in Spanish. Temperatures in the water average 70 degrees. Since you have the kids, you want them comfortable. Rather than packing heavy amounts of clothing, why not make a “climate kit” for the car & one everyone’s bag? Some all-season clothing & long-sleeve shirts can be a good start.

2. The general idea of etiquette for the people around you seems to be a lost virtue. As such, poor camp etiquette from others is something that you may encounter. The Frio River is a popular tubing destination & can attract rowdy groups & alcohol. When making your arrangements, ask about the types of groups that are set to be visiting at the same time as your family. Moreover, when you’re planning your trip, look at available calendars of events to try & avoid certain dates.

3. Camping along the Frio River means you generally won’t have access to the stuff your kids need to survive (or so it seems). Use this trip as an opportunity to take advantage of the area’s fishing, hiking, canoeing, bike trails, and kayaking! You could even experience the Frio Bat Cave in Concan or head to Uvalde to sweeten things up at the “Honey Capital of the World”.

4. Your family will be engaging in some seriously physical activities such as hiking and riding bicycles. You may deal with cuts or scrapes, so keep some bandages and hydrogen peroxide to keep things clean & protected. Also, be prepared to treat a sprain or break. Have some basic supplies to help either provide hot/cold compresses or stability if the injury is a little more serious.

5. The Frio River is known for having clear, fast-flowing water, so if swimming with be a part of your trip’s activities, take precautions. Organizations such as American Whitewater deal in whitewater safety & provide figures on the imminent dangers certain bodies of water pose. The Frio, for example, is fairly safe for all but not without its dangers.

If you’re doing some Frio River camping, you’re stint in the Texas Hill Country will be marked by good times & lifelong memories. With a little homework and planning, your camping trip to this part of the Lone Star State will not be your last.

We May Never Know Whether North Korea Tortured Otto Warmbier Coroner Says

We May Never Know Whether North Korea Tortured Otto Warmbier Coroner Says

(CINCINNATI) — A coroner said Wednesday her office could not determine what led to the fatal brain damage of a young Ohio man detained in North Korea for more than a year.

While the parents of 22-year-old Otto Warmbier and President Donald Trump have accused the North Korean government of torturing him, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said evidence has led to no “scientific facts” to solve Warmbier’s mysterious death.

“We don’t know what happened to him, and this is the bottom line,” she said. The cause of the death may never be known, she added.

A coroner’s report dated Sept. 11 shows the cause of death for the University of Virginia student as complications from brain-damaging oxygen deprivation through “an unknown insult more than a year prior to death.” The medical term for his condition was called “chronic anoxic/ischemic encephalopathy.” The manner of death was listed as “undetermined.”

While Warmbier’s family declined an autopsy, Sammarco said her office used extensive medical scanning and imaging for a “virtual autopsy” and that nothing more would have been gained by doing an autopsy so long after his brain damage occurred.

Warmbier’s parents told a Fox News TV show Tuesday that North Korea tortured and “destroyed” him. Trump tweeted afterward: “Otto was tortured beyond belief by North Korea.” Trump’s tweet added to a series of recent accusations and heated exchanges between his administration and North Korean officials.

North Korea has denied mistreating Warmbier, sentenced to 15 years of hard labor in March 2016 for allegedly stealing a propaganda poster two months earlier. North Koreahas claimed Warmbier fell into a coma that resulted from botulism and a sleeping pill.

Sammarco agreed with University of Cincinnati Health system doctors who treated Warmbier and said they found no evidence of botulism or evidence of fractures or healing fractures that might point to beatings. She said a forensic dentist agreed with her conclusion there was “no evidence of trauma” to Warmbier’s teeth.

Fred Warmbier said on TV that his son’s mouth “looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers and rearranged his bottom teeth.”

Sammarco said Warmbier’s body, including his skin, was in surprisingly good condition for someone who had reportedly been bedridden for more than a year, indicating he received regular care. Her office’s report said his body appeared “well-nourished.” There were multiple scars and bruises, some apparently stemming from medical procedures.

He died in Cincinnati in June 2017, less than a week after his return to the U.S. Sammarco said Warmbier was put on “comfort care” measures, such as removing a feeding tube.

The parents on Tuesday, for the first time, described the condition his family found him in when they went aboard an air ambulance that arrived June 13 in Cincinnati. His father said he was making an “involuntary, inhuman sound,” “‘staring blankly into space jerking violently,” and was blind and deaf with his head shaved.

UC Health doctors said in June that Warmbier was in a state of “unresponsive wakefulness” and had suffered a “severe neurological injury” of uncertain cause.

His father didn’t respond immediately Wednesday to requests for comment.

President Trump I Ll Negotiate With The Democrats If We Can Come Up A Fantastic Health Care Bill

President Trump I Ll Negotiate With The Democrats If We Can Come Up A Fantastic Health Care Bill

In the wake of yet another failed effort by Senate Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare, President Donald Trump said he’d be willing to work with Democrats on a health care bill.

Speaking to Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends in an interview that will air Thursday morning, Trump said that his party will try again with a revised health care bill “a few months from now.” But until that happens, he is open to working with Democrats on the legislation.

“We’ll vote it — it’s block grants. It’s going to be great health care,” Trump began. “But in the meantime, I have that little period of time, I’ll negotiate with the Democrats if we can come up with a fantastic health care bill, that’s okay with me. Good for both parties. Bipartisan.”

Regarding the recently-shelved Graham-Cassidy health care bill, Trump insisted that enough votes could be wrangled — but not before the Friday deadline.

“We have the votes to get it done. You can’t do it when somebody is in the hospital,” Trump said. “You know, when you have 52 votes and you need 51, it’s you know, it’s very hard to get, because you always have somebody — and in some cases, they want to grandstand.

“A lot of bad things happen. But we have the votes,” Trump added. “But we don’t have the time, because it’s Friday. I mean literally Friday, it ends at a certain time on Friday. So we’ll bring it into a few months from now.”

Trump has recently shown a willingness to work across the party lines with other legislation, at times to the dismay of his fellow Republicans. He teamed up with Democrat leaders to reach a budget deal earlier this month. Then, after sending hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants protected under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) into panic by rescinding the Obama-era policy later that month, the President seemed to have a change of heart.

“Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military?” Trump asked on Twitter at the time. He agreed to work with the Democrats to protect DACA recipients a day earlier during a dinner with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Republicans Are Optimistic About Tax Reform But It Could Face The Same Trouble As Health Care

Republicans Are Optimistic About Tax Reform But It Could Face The Same Trouble As Health Care

Republican lawmakers gathered with excitement on Wednesday to introduce their proposal for what they described as the most sweeping federal tax reform proposal in decades.

Just a day after the latest failure on their promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the change of topic was welcomed, and the members gathered in the Rayburn Room were optimistic about the new proposal.

“I like the energy in the room,” said Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio. “This is a really exciting opportunity… It gets the economy moving and will generate more income, more wages. It’s more jobs, it’s better jobs.”

Endorsed by President Trump in Indiana on Wednesday, the plan is being billed as a drastic simplification of the federal tax system, one that is “built for growth” and “puts America first,” with an emphasis on helping the middle class. But like the healthcare fight before it, the proposal came with a number of unanswered questions that could frustrate lawmakers’ goals.

The blueprint, titled “United Framework for Fixing Our Broken Tax Code,” runs at just nine pages — eight if you subtract the title page — and deals mostly in broad strokes. And the specifics that are there have already engendered skepticism among Democrats and nonpartisan tax experts.

To take one example: the framework calls for reducing the number of income tax brackets from its current seven down to three, taxed at 12%, 25% and 35%. This idea by itself would amount to a tax hike on the poorest Americans, who currently pay a 10% federal income tax rate, and a tax cut for the richest, who pay 39.6%. (It will be up to Congress to decide what the income cutoffs are for each bracket.)

Supporters argue that the bill will include a tradeoff: simplifying the tax code enough that Americans could file their taxes “on the back of a postcard.” That means getting rid of many itemized deductions in favor of a larger standard deduction. But the plan fails to specify exactly which deductions would go, noting only that it will retain incentives for charitable donations and the mortgage interest deduction for homeowners.

Trump has long called for a significant slashing of corporate taxes, and the new proposal delivers on that. It would reduce the current corporate tax rate from 35% to around 20%, earning the proposal the support of conservative House Republicans, and limit the tax rate on small businesses to around 25%, which are currently taxed as individuals.

(It’s worth noting that many of the specifics laid out in the blueprint will likely benefit Trump himself. He owns more than 500 small “pass-through” businesses under the broad umbrella of the Trump Organization that will enjoy a significant tax cut. The plan also eliminates the Alternative Minimum Tax, which often hits Americans making more than $130,000, and does away with the estate tax, which would factor into his children’s inheritance.)

The proposal fails to explain how it will pay for all of this. According to some reports, one proposed strategy is repealing the state and local income tax deduction, a century-old measure that allows taxpayers to deduct the sum they pay in local and state taxes from the amount that is then taxed at the federal level. This will inevitably draw the ire of lawmakers from states that benefit heavily from the deduction — high-tax, generally blue states like New York and California.

“Firstly, it’s an attempt at tax reform, but it’s really just a tax cut. And there’s no doubt in my mind that in its current form, it will likely increase the deficit,” Steve Bell, who served as staff director for the Senate’s Committee on the Budget from 1981 to 1986 and is now a senior advisor at the Bipartisan Policy Center, tells TIME. “By how much? We don’t know. No one can say, because we don’t know the details behind some of these provisions.”

“There has been a real complaint, especially in the Senate, by Republican lawmakers who haven’t participated in this process, now that the best they’re getting is a few pages of really sketchy stuff,” Bell continued. “There are a lot of Republicans who would like to know a lot more about this. I can guarantee you that the final bill — if one even emerges — will be substantially different than this.”

Still, Wednesday was a day for optimism among the GOP. In the eight months that have passed since Trump took the Oval Office and Republicans took the majority in both houses of Congress — the party’s first such trifecta in a decade — the Republican Party has notched zero major legislative victories. Its failures have been loud and public: most recently, the death earlier this week of the last-ditch Obamacare repeal effort known as Graham-Cassidy, which many Republicans clung to until the end as a possible Hail Mary pass on a pledge dating back to 2010.

Conservative experts are bullish. “This is going to be an extremely popular thing, and it will pass before December,” Grover Norquist, the outspoken anti-tax advocate who heads the action group Americans for Tax Reform, tells TIME. “Trump has focused the rhetoric on jobs, jobs, jobs, and this is much more a jobs bill than it is a tax cut bill.”

Asked if achieving tax reform was a more reasonable goal than repealing Obamacare, Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah demurred.

“I think they’re both difficult, but this is one that attracts more attention and gets people working a little harder,” said Hatch, one of the leading figures in the tax reform effort. “It’s a question of when we bring it up — we can do it now if we have to.”

This isn’t exactly true. For starters, Republicans in Congress must first pass a budget resolution that will allow the Senate to pass a tax reform bill with just a simple majority of 51 votes. (A draft is expected to hit the Senate floor next week.) Only then will lawmakers go to work to hash out a bill deemed palatable.

But Democrats are already on the offensive, decrying the plan as an unjust tax cut for the wealthy. “Their plan is clear: slash rates for the wealthiest among us, and stick the middle class with the check,” Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan from Ohio said Wednesday in a statement.

“Of course we’re taking it seriously. Their healthcare bill was an absurd proposal, and so is this,” one senior Democratic aide tells TIME. “It’s fundamentally a tax cut for the wealthy, and if this remains the framework, it’s hard to expect bipartisan work on it. You can’t tinker around with fundamental flaws. None of this is surprising.”

Watch Fugitive Pot Bellied Pig Has Standoff With Police On Busy Highway

(HENRICO, Va.) — A pot-bellied pig that had been on the loose for weeks in a Virginia neighborhood has been nabbed by police.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the pig had become a familiar sight in Henrico’s Twin Hickory subdivision as it scurried around the neighborhood.

Police finally caught the pig Tuesday morning after it briefly held up traffic on a busy street.

Lt. Shawn Sears of the Henrico Animal Protection Police said officers had been hearing reports for weeks about sightings of the pig.

On their Facebook page, Henrico police shared a video from NBC12 of them chasing the animal. “Just another day at the office,” police wrote.

Sears said the pig is likely a pet that escaped.

If the pig’s owner doesn’t come forward to claim him, police plan to place him with an animal rescue organization.
